The work continues an exploration of containment, building on earlier ideas of chains and cages in a larger, wearable form. Made from blown glass and copper, it draws on principles of Brutalism, particularly a focus on material honesty and industrial qualities.
Glass and metal are set against each other. The fragility of the glass contrasts with the weight and rigidity of the copper, suggesting a tension between vulnerability and restraint. Breath is treated as part of the material, highlighting both the making process and the presence of the body.
When static, the piece feels almost architectural and fixed in place. Once worn, it becomes part of the body, an extension of it, shifting how the wearer moves and experiences the pieces.
